Slide content and native comments are separate
Text, shapes and images placed on the slide belong to the presentation page. Native comments are attached feedback shown through Google Slides’ commenting interface. A thread can have replies and an open or resolved state without becoming part of the slide’s visible design.
As a result, a normal PDF download is useful for distributing the slides themselves, but it does not create a readable record of native comment threads alongside them. A screenshot of an open comment panel is a different approach and can miss replies or cover part of the slide.
Check what kind of feedback you have
Open the source presentation and confirm the comments are visible with your Google account. Text typed into a slide should appear as slide content; speaker notes and native comments are separate kinds of information. A notes printout is not a substitute for the comment conversation.
If the comments are absent from Google Slides itself, a PDF tool cannot restore them. Check the account, file access and resolved conversations in the source first. Comments2PDF can only work with the data Google makes available for your selected presentation.
Workaround: build a separate review document
- Open Comments2PDF and click Choose a presentation.
- Authenticate with the Google account that has access, then select the presentation. The app requests access for files you choose, not broad access to your Drive.
- Let the app read the slide previews and native comments. Start with All comments and Include replies enabled to review the available conversation.
- Check author names, open/resolved labels and the Other / Unmatched comments section. Choose a beside or below layout.
- Use Print / Save PDF and select the browser’s PDF destination. Open the saved file to confirm that the slides and feedback are readable.
This leaves your original presentation unchanged. It creates a review view with slide images and comment text, rather than adding comment boxes to the Slides file.
If something is still missing
Switch back to All if a status filter has hidden a thread, and enable Include replies if the follow-up discussion is missing. A thread without a reliable slide link appears at the end rather than being discarded. If a slide image fails, the feedback remains available, but you may want to reselect the presentation before printing.
A “No comments found” message means the current load returned no threads; it is not a claim that the presentation never had feedback. Confirm the file and account in Google Slides. For an access or connection error, reconnect or retry as prompted. The review is a snapshot, so changes made after loading require a new selection.
